i use to have a film i burnt on to my rw disk it worked fine now on the same media also differnt disks they no longer spin in ps2 they spin for a split second and stop i can't find the film i used b4 but it sane media anyway also wot play on dvd players just my burner blank dvd rw will spin on ps2 just not ern i burnt to it

Is it a problem with m dvd rw

The prolem being that ps2's dont like rw media, it may work in a dvd player but it will not work in a ps2. Some versions of ps2's will read +r media and maybe certain types of +rw or -rw media but it is very limited.

it used to work on ps2 and on the 2 normal dvd players in the house but any thing new on these disks since yesterday will only play on the burner

Have you tried to clean the optic in the PS2, may just be a little dusty.........

Also it maybe that your PS2 laser is going a little 'weak', you will find inforamtion on google to 'tweak it' if that is the case............

The fact that it spins for a while then stops suggests it cannot focus properly, this is attributed to one of the above...............

Depending on the version of PS2, yes they do have issues with rw media, I think version 4 and earlier have those issues, however if they have played previously I would assume you have a later version.

Have you tried transferring the info on that rw to a standard -r disc, I would try that, as -r are more forgiving on the laser.........

Its not just the ps2 its all dvd players apart from the burner i even erased 1 of my films what worked on ps2 and dvd players but i now does't work its same batch even the 1s i have deleted no longer work

try cleaning the laser lens, uninstall, defrag the hd than reinstall your burning program as a friend had that problem & is now working

2 options:1- get a cd/dvd disc cleaner disk
2- take drive apart & use a q-tip & alcohol

ok opend it opn cleaned but still did't work i found a updated firmware on net will it work if i use that on it or will that nakker it even more

Seriously, it is really difficult to read some of the posts here.

I would love to help but then I got rather crosseyed trying to make sense of wot people are trying to say all in one go without having to take a breath or pause or puctuate making it really hard to make any sense of without the need for a machine to decipher what the hell is going on my brain cannot cope with any more my head is now spinning round & round with all the nonsense my head hurts I will have to stop in a minute before I get all confused.
