Does anyone know if there is any alternative to the ac3 filter. I mean a stand alone filter to playback dvd with ac3 audio.

No. Technically AC3 filter project is an alternative to the mainstream Dolby AC3 decoding technologies. Why do you want to find an alternative to AC3 filter project (its free)?

it's free, but found it some times, too much variable. Every time i change the movie i want to watch, i lose more time configuring it, than watching the movie. However that, i like AC3Filter, but i was curius to try onother.

also, because the dvdplayers don't support 6 channels for my soundmax soundcard.(i have to use media player classic, with the ac3filter).
