here in Europe, my download rates cruise nicely from 1am-9am (200kb/sec), then slow to a miserable 1kb/sec for the rest of the day. but this only applies to p2p, as anything I download from the net still maintains a good speed. anything I can do as far as configuration settings? thanks in advance...

1. Download all your most-wanted files/big files at night.
2. Call up your ISP and ask them what the peak times are, then adjust accordingly.
3. Uncap your modem and risk getting your internet connection cut.

thanks, but any idea why the cap would only effect p2p programs, and not http/ftp, etc? changing ports in p2p programs, of course, does nothing...

Quote: thanks, but any idea why the cap would only effect p2p programs, and not http/ftp, etc? Maybe it's because the ISP realises people who fileshare 24/7 are causing massive congestion on their network etc.
Plus web surfing and web downloads tend to be small in size compared to movies/games etc.
