I updated my AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 and now I'm having no problems. With the movie or my burner plus update my firmware. AnyDVD is suppose to be coming out with another update again in a few days...So I've heard.

I agree with sadsac - while most of these programs that people are so hyped up about on this site may have some useful purpose that I haven't yet discovered, the fact is that DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and Nero (all of witch are free) will do what you are spending good money that could be spent on another burner.
I have yet to find a movie that Decrypter won't rip, although I did have to wait a whole 2 days for the upgrade to get Resident Evil ???.
This is just my opinion, but Spanglish, which everyone is having so many problems with, is a stupid, gay ass movie anyway. I for one am tired of paying my dollars to see A.S. talk in a baby voice.

there is a problem with AnyDVD. It does work like people say it does and i was able to copy movies i couldnt before. But the problem is major. AnyDVD told me it wants to update so i got the newest version, after installing ,it said it could not find a dvd burner. which is weird since the older version worked fine. So in there troubleshooting it told me to uninstall, restard and install again. So i did. after it installed and i did the final reboot the computers hard drive became unusable. i could not boot my computer. i kept getting a message boot drive not detected. so what finnaly happened is i got a new hard drive but lost 5 years of photo's on the old hard drive. i am compleatly against this software and if you value your computer i recommend using decripter and DVD Shrink. and if still not working wait untill an updated version of DVD Shrink comes out.

dame that sucks, do you know of any other software that will work besides AnyDVD. i tryed using DVD43 but it doesnt seem to work. I finnaly got a burner and it will be useless for all the new "major" movies comming out. maybe a newer version of decrypter?

You will find that the freeware program DVD Decrypter will work with DVD Shrink to produce excellent copies. If you read a number of the threads here on AD, you'll find these two programs are higly recommended. and you can't beat the cost. Excellent guides available also on this site.

@diabolus3
You need to make sure your software are the latest versions - I've get to come across a movie that DVD Decrypter will not handle (including all the so called new protection/problem ones).
Oceans 12 was a tame little puppy - ripped with DVD Shrink in re-author mode - no problems.
Some of you guys/gals really need to clean up your system or try reading some guides/threads.

Well just had to jump in Boys/Girls, had all the same problems and did what you all told me got the latest version of AnyDVD, started it up and let it run in the background, then ran DVDShrink and copied all my movies and even went and got the few I couldnt copy before,
YOU WERE RIGHT ON THE MONEY AND MANY THANKS,
One thing that I did notice, Electra copied perfect @8X, Spanglish and Grudge had to be done @4X,

I had no problems as I said
AnyDVD running in the back ground and DVDshrink to do the work,I know what you said about the update and screwing up your machine, but I didnt have this problem, but I turn of the auto updates I like to get my own, anyways with AnyDVD running in the back ground it killed all the encryption and region codes, I notice as the movie was being encoded it said no encryption.
As for Oceans 12 I did as you tried I did the reauther and had no problems, ended up with a nice clean copy of just the movie.
Sorry to see you are having so many problems

My son was able to copy Oceans 12 using DVD-Xcopy. I don't know how in the hell he does it, but the only recent movies that he hasn't been able to copy was Spandglish and Grunge. He came by to visit yesterday afternoon and said he had just copied Oceans 12 and Hotel Rawanda. I asked him if he had actually played them after copying and he said he played about 15 minutes of each and there were no problems. A buddy of mine from work had called me earlier in the day and said he could not copy either one of these 2 (he also uses X-copy) and I told him to d/l AnyDVD and give it a shot. He told me at work this morning that he was able to copy both movies using AnyDVD. I still can't figure out how my son (who is not particularly computer literate) copied them with X-Copy.

The Grudge, Spanglish, Elektra, Oceans 12, etc. no biggie deal. Just use DVD43 in the background while burning/backing up with any decent software such as Nero, DVD Shrink, 1Click, InterVideo Dvd Copy, etc. However, keep in mind that you must have the latest version of "DVD43 3.2.5.113" to support/run in background and it must have "a happy/smiley green face" in order for you to backup the original dvd. I suspect that some people may have misunderstood on how to use DVD43, or perhaps some simply doesn't have the patient enough to wait for it to detect the protection and removed it, instead of just do a backing up right away by thinking that they have DVD43 in the background already. Have fun burning!!!
