When I use dvddecrypter to burn I use the "file f" mode and have had no problems with it. If you just use the ISO mode it will only be playable on your PC.

Always a newbie.

I use ISO mode for all my DVD-5 copies and haven't had any problems with playing my DVD-R copies on any standalone. Are you saying that DVD Decryptor doesn't recognize the files on the original DVD when you try to rip or that your DVD player doesn't recognize the copy when you try to play it.

mnmeater, I use ISO mode for all my DVD-5 copies and they have played on every standalone I've found. Besides, DVD Decryptor doesn't burn in File mode. It just rips. Burning requires either an image file of some kind or another piece of software.

To mnmeater.

I use ISO mode to backup all dvd5's
Create the image and burn.
These all work flawlessly in pc/ps2/lecson dv900/cyberhome 402 and lg3200e.

Funnily none of my backups burned with nero/Mydvd work on the lg3200e.

Compatibility is a big issue on the forums.
Different authoring software burn in different ways even though they are supposed to adhered to the same dvd compliances!

If u use nero to burn.
Afterwards stick the dvd in dvd decryptor on file mode and look at the order the files r in.
Pressed movies r always:
BUP
IFO
VOB
order.

Nero tends to put a BUP on the end and rearrange the IFO/VOB sometimes.

Somebody outthere claims THIS is why some backups play in some standalones and not others.

Yet there still is no definitive answer unless your prepared to part with the dosh!

I made of made a mistake on a earlier thread regarding the order of BUP/IFO/VOB files.

That was my experience however I have just come across a dvd5 where the files r in a different order so i am trying an image burn to see if it plays compatibility wise.

This has gone off topic ----- apologies.
