Long Delay when Click "File" in Media Player Classic

I have been using Meida Player Classic for a few years, but recently, for no apparent reason, when clicked "File" to open it, there is a long, long delay before it would open up. It feels like something is "stuck". I have uninstalled and re-installed many times, to no avail. What is causing this problem? Any suggestion? I hate not to be able to use it.
