Somehow, I can copy DVDs again, but that's still a good idea. Windows is a bit unstable for me, but I don't have an external hard drive. Does anybody know of a good program to burn a data DVD? The roxio drag-to-disc program that came with my DVD burner doesn't seem to be working and I don't have enough CDs to back up my hard drive with.

stay away from that drag to disc program. In fact, uninstall it completely. You should also have Roxio Easy CD Creator, or Easy Media Creator or something like that. Use that instead. That Drag to Disc program will just cause problems when trying to burn movies and stuff.

The other programs with roxio don't seem to work either. Any other ideas or programs?

yup, uninstall the Roxio programs, they're too troublesome, i'd trial Nero Burning Rom instead. looks like this has been going on since at least April
