I always burn DVD's at 2x speeds to insure error free copies. Due to a lightning storm frying all my TVs and DVD players in teh house its been awhile since ive did any burning. However now that I've started burning again I noticed that I no longer have any burn options under 4x. I've tried both copytodvd and Nero ultra. None of them will actually give me the lower burn option. Actually copytodvd will give the option but when it actually burns it does it at 4x. Any ideas?

Hi there,

Since then, did you replace your DVD Burner ?
Or you are using the same burner with the same media ?

Some new burner only have 4x MIN on DVD-R (Philips DVD8631) is one that I know. No idea on DVD+R since I never used any.

So it may be normal, we just need more information...
