I'm using DVDClone, latest version. Lately I'm having trouble with the burned disc playing the wrong audio track\, i.e. the directors comments. It seems to vary with player. Some players play the correct audio track.

I am not selecting anything that says directors comments when I burn. I am using the copy not clone function obviously

Usually I copy only the main movie and 2/6 track audio. Again I dont select anything thats says directors comments

I never used to have this problem. Why is this happening and why do some players play it and others dont.

A copy I burned yesterday played fine on my PC, and DVD player. I gave it to a freiend and it would only play directors comments on their stand alone but did play the ciorrect audio on theit xbox and playstation?

What's up? How do I avoid this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Do not select the 2 channel unless that is the only option the 2 channel is usually the directors comments. Also, some dvd standalone will default to the 2 channel when playing so you will then get the directors comments, press the audio button on you dvd player remote and you should get the regular audio.

thanks but when I press the audio button I get no choices... maybe I didn't burn the extra tracks but I think I did.

ok.... a 6 channel will still always play on a 2 channel system yes?

so just stick to the first English track listed?

Even if you don't want to use it to rip with, DVD Shrink has a very easy way to determine which audio track to select.

So I'm assuming you don't have it.

I have it here:

http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/dvdshrink32setup.zip

Download and install.

Open Shrink.

Place your movie in your ROM and then once it spins up, select "Open Disc".

Select the movie from the drop-down menu.

Shrink will analyze the movie.

Once that is done, a window appears with the DVD Structure and Compression Settings.

On the left, highlight the Main Movie.

Next, start the preview window and advance the slider a bit.

With the movie playing in the preview window, right click anywhere in the preview window.

This opens a small menu. Select Audio.

All your available audio tracks appear so just click one and listen to it.

Keep doing this until you find the one you want and take note of it.

Generally you will find the correct audio to be the AC3 5.1-ch track.

Now that you have found out the correct track, close Shrink and open CloneDVD.

And yes, the multi-channel audio will "fold down" to AC3 2-ch.

Thank you. I think this helped me understand what is going on. Some players were defaulting to 2 channel audio when there was more than one audio track and no menu system cloned. Since all I want is the movie and the audio, and since the 5.1 will always fold down there is really no need to include the additional audio tracks.

Thanks to all those who responded so quickly.
