I thought punx777's question was valid wasnt it? I mean we talk about shrink all the time in this forum so why is it illegal? I dont understand your answer is there some special shrink section? Man feels like im on the eBay website and being yelled at for selling beanie babies against eBay policies (selling 2 beanies consecutively within a one year period). Hey can we give the moderator of punx's question a free happy hour drink? Something to brighten the mods day? Really im serious isnt there something else to yell at someone about, cause I got a new baby with a loaded diaper you can deal with if you want to be fussy!

It's a valid question in the wrong forum by a Senior Member. We are all human and screw-up occasionally and have mods here to keep us on the right track. there is no way his question belongs in the Advanced Users forum.
Actually this thread should be in the Safety Valve Forum, it will probably get closed as well.

It's not that the question was illegal, it was that the question was better suited to our DVD Shrink forum. In order to make it easier for folks to find the information they need its necessary to keep threads in the appropriate forums :)

yeah - i really dont see what the issue is.... the mod did the right thing.
to be honest im sure they are getting pissed off with all the laz buggers using the forums.
i regulary see 'i cant copy xyz film' with at least one other thread about the same film. or the usual 25+ PAL -> NTSC conversion questions. or people asking 'how do i get dvd9 to dvd5' in the advanced forums.

re the numerous new posts on forums (here and elsewhere) such as 'i cant copy xyz film' etc (ie the type where noobs signup and instead of searching just post what is to most other ppl just yet another repetitive question); i guess it's a problem on most types of forum (though not on the bearded Unix forums i frequent); but maybe the Mods could catch a lot of these type of posts early on, crack the whip and throw in a quick solution/or advise to do a search followed by a swift closure of said thread (as is done with a lot of the multiposts).
Whilst the noobs in question might get the hump at having their posts closed, they'd get an answer of sorts, they'd (hopefully) learn to help themselves more then and in the future, and longterm members could better concentrate on helping those who have already helped themselves a bit first;
I myself don't like to give long detailed replies to things, unless it's work-related forums where i post scripts or stuff like that, purely because the info is all there for the searching/finding (and i often can't take in so much info at my tender age of 36).
I self-taught myself Solaris to enable a change in career path and most of what i learnt was out there for me to find. 5yrs later and i still do a helluva lot of searching.

Your right of course (about posting in the wrong section) but hey hes a newbie cant we just help him out without making him sit in the corner with a dunce cap on? This forum is rather generic in title anyway and I for one dont use the other forum headings as they seem to be rather old topics with little or no new postings unlike this heading. Anyway thats my 2 cents hey nice bike on the posts with the cycle. I just got my 4th ticket for doing a burnout followed by a wheelie on public highway.
