Hi Guys....this is my first problem disc in 18 months!Used decrypter to rip to hard drive and before i could start got a message stating that an encryption was found that decrypter wasnt expecting!(didnt state what encryption)Offered me the choice to carry on which i did, disc ripped to hard drive ok.However, upon trying to use shrink, all i got was a couple of seconds of green screen and an error message stating it couldnt read the first vob.Tried to view each vob with powerdvd and all i got was a black screen for a few seconds, then power dvd closed down.On one vob i managed to see many colourful scrambled pixellations about 5mm square.Tried burning the vobs onto a disc with nero (burnt fine) and tried decryter again. No go,just black screens.I have no hair on my head left now....do i start pulling my eyebrows out!!!:D

What version of Decrypter are you using. Sounds like you have an older version. Latest version is 3.5.4.0. and should handle all the newest encryptions that we know of.

are you doing full movie? or just the main movie?
you could try decrypting the movie only as it is the extras that seems to screw people up

As the newer movies show up on dvd we are seeing more and more defective originals. Bad pressings are getting very common place. You could have a bad original that will play fine but won't rip. In most cases getting the disc replaced if possible corrects the problem. I have had 4 movies do this already since the 1st of the year.

try this. rip with decryter in iso mode. then drag file to shrink.just tick 0k when u get messages.i havent got this flick yet, but its worth a try.most of the new one that have showed up on ad latetley have went pretty well using this. all of the messages and warnings in decrypter, shrink and Nero really threw me off for awhile but this has worked good so far.

Anyone reckon the DVD manufacturers might be flooding the market with bad pressings in order to put us 'Back-up'ers off. ive noticed more & more threads like this lately.
just a thought, though...

I think its more on the line of flooding the market with as many copies for sale as possible. Plus they don't seem to care about quality just quantity. They figure most will usually play and they sure don't care if they can be ripped.

Got a point there, Jerry, never thought of that. flood the market with shite & as long as they've got their £14.99 or whatever it dont matter what happens afterwards.
