I must have the same problem as Harness.
Ever since I updated my Azureus to the Newer Version, none of my downloads will start. I Uninstalled Azureus and installed the previous version I had and all the Downloads work perfectly. Now I would like to know if there is a Fix for the Newer Version or if I have done something wrong. I would really like to use the Newer Version than the Older Version.
Thanks alot.

Well as I have already stated, the downloads do work with the Old Version.
But now I would like to know how to get the Newer Version to work. :)

K-Dawg said this
Quote: Tried this and it seems to work:
Go into 'options'
under 'plugins' go to 'jpc' and unchecked both upload and download cache.
Please post results.[/qoute]

Try this found info at the Azureus site
Problems with the update to 2.3.0.0
If you are having connections problems or poor speeds after updating to 2.3.0.0 (proceed to step 2 if step 1 does not fix the problem):
1. Uninstall any versions of java, restart your computer and install the new java jre 1.5.0_03 series.
2. Uninstall Azureus, restart your computer and make a fresh install of the latest release.
* NOD32 is known to cause 100% cpu usage.

Also found this at http://btmusic.dynalias.com:2710/
# Latest Java 5, Update 3 for Windows: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/torrents/jre-1_5_0_03-windows-i586-p.exe.torrent # Torrent for the .jar of Azureus 2.3.0.0: http://play.aelitis.com/torrents/Azureus2.3.0.0.jar.torrent # Windows installer: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/azureus/Azureus_2.3.0.0_Win32.setup.exe?download # New features: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/whatsnew2300.php
You need Java 5 (at least on XP), if you are running 1.4 your torrents will not start, stay red, but tracker will say "okay". You also will be stuck on the auto-update for e.g. azplugins. Please consider this: Java has the annoying habit of not up-/downgrading, but clutter your HD with several versions at a time, thus bringing you DLL hell. So before you install Java 5, close your browser and Azureus first, then go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Software and remove any Java version you find. Try starting Azureus afterwards, it should say "no java found on your machine, download now?". Click "no" and install your previously downloaded JRE.
If you should experience trouble: try running Azureus with the least-possible plugins, only azupdater and azplugins. Do not forget the "C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Azureus" folder!
please, disable "Send java version and OS name" in Tools->Option->Tracker->Client
PS; please note which one works if they work.

Hi everyone. I feel a bit stupid to post this. I just did the update to Azureus 2.3, which I'm very new to anyway (even before the upgrade). I'm using Linux, Fedora 3, and have two issues:
1. CPU usage is much higher which may be due to problems with the JPC plugin. The output from the plugin is, "Looking for" a host, then I get, "Unknown Host: . . ." It does that about 10 times using different IP addresses related to my ISP. Finally, it ends with: "Cache Not Found. Informing Adapter of Cache Address. Connection error thrown: download cache address==null"
Is there a way to fix this and is the CPU usage related to this?
2. I have never used the IRC chat and I wanted to take this to the IRC. Here's my stupid question. I'm able to type at the bottom of the screen and I don't see anyplace to send it so it actually gets in the IRC chat. The IRC comes up totally fine and gives everone a message that I have joined under my nickname. Any ideas what I'm missing?
Sorry for the long message and thank you.
Mark

Thanks for the help! I'd been wondering why the hell I couldn't get Azureus working for the last few weeks. Installing the new version of Java (1.5.02) worked like a charm... I'm gtesting it now, I was getting d/l speeds of upto 200K, right now I'm only at 40K, but Usually I get higher rates at the middle - end of a torrent. Thanks again!
