Hey guys, i need some free downloads of DVD's. If anyone knows a great site with free (i mean 100% pure blood free, not just free movies, but membership fee, i mean free) movies, please post them!
P.S. I know of kazaa, however, it doesn't work very good with 256k broadband :( Very slow!

try googling for p2p, kazaa is rubbish and full of spyware, go for a good bt client. Anything you get will be slow, a movie is 4.7gb over 256k = slow download

Or you could pay for them....

Off topic i checked out your instructions. If your going to use decrypter to rip first, then DVD Shrink to encode, why not use DVD Decrypter to burn (it can be set to do it automatically)
Also "It does not matter what you have on your disk, it will shrink it down to the file size of your DVD-R." isnt true, its algorithim only allows it to shrink soo much. You would be better of setting it to only one type of audio stream (go to edit-preferences-stream selections) and then when it rips select only the AC3 5.1
Also if you want good quality backups you arent goin to be able to rip most movies fully, try doing a movie only backup using shrinks re-author function and notice the quality difference. Speaking of quality, any movie with a little bit of compression is aided by deep analysis and a fiddle with the smooth/sharp settings. It takes a bit longer but is heaps better

try newsgrops. jus got into finally this weekend, and i find it alot faster than torrents, and i used to use mIRC for most stuff, but now i dont have to really worry bout disconnects. it still might take about 12 hours on a 256 connection but i jus do it before going to bed, and its usually done in the morning.

About the DVD Shrink stuff, etc. First of all, I like to use the decrypter first, and instead of automatically having it shrink it, i like to use DVD Shrink. For two reasons: I have found DVD Shrink adds a little bit of more quality, and (maybe it's just my program of DVD Decrypter) but it has skipped over shrinking parts of the movie, making it larger than 4.7gb. Also, about the part where it doesn't matter how big the file is; You are true, i must edit it. But you must admit, MOST movies will be able to be shrinked down to 4.7gb.
Thank you for showing me my mistake, and thanks guys for the reccomendations! :)

dvd decrypter is not an encoder, its a ripper and iso burner and thats it (and good at it). If you put a 7gb movie in, you will get a 7gb movie out, if you put a 3 gb movie in, you can burn it straight away because it already fits on a blank.
But you must admit, MOST movies will be able to be shrinked down to 4.7gb.
Most movie only backups will fit on a DVD-5 with little or no compression, however those that dont would be massive if you tried a full disc backup (eg LOTR has compression ratio of around 30% doing movie only and removing everything not needed. It would be around 60% if you tried to leave in menus and features etc)
