splitting DVD 9 into two DVD+Rs

I have just started burning DVD's and would appreciate any advice on why the result works in my PC, but no where else!
I have tried to split 'Donnie Brasco' onto two DVD+R's to work on either my panasonic or playstation players.
I downloaded to my hardrive with dvd decrypter. I downloaded everything on the disc. Then loaded it on IFOedit and split it into two. Once done I threw a copy of video.bup / .ifo etc into each folder. I made an image of each with imgtool and burnt. It works on my pc (loads straight into film) but when played on standalone it plays the copyright screen, then the producing logo screen...and thats it!? HELP! I need an idiots guide...assuming I know sweet FA on what to do. WE NEED YOU!

did you do the GET VTS SECTORS part cause that makes it play on the standalone.

not sure...I'll have a look at it this weekend and try again, so you 'get vts sectors' after you have split it for each new folder of files?
