maybe banning IPs from countries such as USA that keep trying to shut them down

nikrik - Maybe your antispam or anti virus has this site as a blocked site - I know little about it but had trouble with axcessing sites due to some reason a block was put on them. Maybe parental controls or whatever if you have set the limits or the computers administrator has. Maybe shutting off some of your protection will let you get to it.

can you ping www.cdcovers.cc?

start - run - cmd (or command for < win2k ) - "ping www.cdcovers.cc"

i get 212.199.125.53 and it works fine for me...

i tried that ping thing and this is what i got

Ping request could not find host www.cdcovers.cc. Please check the name and try
again.

the only thing i can guess is that they are checking for IP ranges and changingn the DNS somehow on that... can you ping 212.199.125.53?

I was able to get to the Covers site late yesterday. Does anyone have an idea what we could do if this site were ever shut down. Maybe we could setup our own label network?

just join covers.to

to be honest most of the labels on covers.cc are overly JPEGd, low resolution and needs resizing and manipulating.

i usually only go there for obscure labels that i cant find in high res anywhere else...

just enter a name in the search - some have cd covers but mainly they are dvd case covers

i tried the ping thing with the number and all i get is repeated timed out

i also went on a friends computer to see if the page opens for them and it does.

so i guess i need someone that knows the insides and setup of a computer. i would appreciate all the help i can get as i really want that site working for me again

download another browser and try that.

firefox is pretty good...

the only thing i can think of is your IProvider has banned their IP range or their DNAS isnt liking your IP range...

maybe try an IP spoofer (google for one)

Clear all cookies (I know you said you did this, but try again). Then, clear all cache. THEN, the most important step -- CLOSE your browser entirely. (Otherwise, it does not really clear the stuff). Then, re-open and try again.

or if you have cable modem just switch it off then leave for a few mins (say 15) then switch it back on. if you are lucky you will have a new IP and maybe a better chance?

for all the people that responded to my posts i thank you

we have finally worked out what was wrong

i have 4 other computers running through my router and 1 had a serious virus on it that affected what could open on mine lol
