Problems matching AC3 length to Video Length

I've been trying for the last few days to to rip a DVD and copy it to a DVD-R. So far I have ripped the DVD successfully with SmartRipper. I then used TMPEG to take the .d2v file and create an MPEG-2 DVD video stream for my eventual copy. (I'm not looking to copy menus, just the movie to the DVD-R). I have one VOB file containing the movie. When I demux that into AC3 and subsequently to wav, the AC3 file is much longer than the MPG file i have. What can I do to get these to match up? Thanks!

Don't quite see what you are doing. Are you saying that the ac3 file you get after doing a 'demux' in DVD2AVI is longer than the video? What's the wav file for?

I demux the VOB file, then I take the AC3 i get and convert that to wav so that I can put it with the MPG2 video in TMPEG. (I know I could keep the AC3 and whatever, but I want an MPE2 and I don't want to Re-MPEG for like 24 hours.)

Try the 'decode' function in DVD2AVI to create the wav file instead. It's always worked for me...
