copying tv shows off DVD

Hello I own a couple tv show DVD like simpson,family guy, and macGyver and I would like to know how I can rip the DVD so that those episodes on the DVD are on my computer(in AVI or mpeg). I have a DVD burner so I am all redy to go as far as that goes. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

Try DVD Decrypter. There is no reason to convert the format to .avi or mpeg unless you plan on doing something with the files besides just watching them.

You stated you have a DVD burner so do you plan on copying these discs?

If so then you should get DVD Shrink so you can compress them to fit.

O I am sory I forgot to mention I wan't them in AVI or MPEG format so I can play them useing orb or on any of my mobile devices. So i don't wan't to copy them just backthem up to AVI or mpeg so I can watch them on the go. thanks!!

I've been using this DVD to mpeg converter:

Seems to work OK for me on the rare occasion I need to do a conversion.

Very easy to use as well.

will this rip each episode into different MPEG or all just 1 because I want them all separte. Thanks for all your help

It just converts whatever you put in to mpeg. If I was doing this I would use Shrink first to cut each episode out as a seperate DVD-Video folder and then use the converter on that. Use Shrink's "Set Start/End Frames" feature in the re-author mode. It works really well for cutting out episodes, scenes etc.

There may be better ways to do this but it would work.
