DVD DISC IS AND CD DISC ID

What i dont understand is why there is a dvd and a cd version of the disc id. I loaded up the dvd version burned on cd with swap magic 3.6 cd. So what is the difference,

the dvd and cd version are exactly the same the dvd version just helps if you dont have a swap magic cd which is the position im in so im glad one was there for download.

am pretty sure the downloaded swap magic doesn't work.
But is your statement true, that dvd and cd version are the same?

The dvd disk boots higher TOC dvd games,
the CD disk is for small TOC games and Homebrew applications.

You cant use use downloaded or copied Swap magic disks.
They have to be originals in order to work.

My question was why they have two versions of the DISK ID. I mean they have a dvd and a cd version of it. I burnt a dvd DISK ID on a cd and booted it up with Swap Magic cd and it worked as it should. that is at i dont get. there must by a difference between the two. Maybe the DVD version to to find out the Disc ID for a DVD game and Cd ver. for CD.

My other question is that is there a way to actually go online without being caught. I patch a game with the correct last three values out of the five and used the first two values from a game of mine. it goes like this:
BEGiINNING DISC ID FROM another Game 12:34:xx:xx:xx
Original LAST THREE VALUES xx:xx:11:22:33
ADDED TOGETHER TO FORM 12:34:11:22:33

THOSE ARE FAKE IDS BUT I THINK YALL GET MY QUESTION

no both the cd version and the dvd version have a rather small TOC so it makes sense that the dvd works on cd but the cd wouldnt work on DVD.
