PCI Latency........ How do I SAFELY tweak it?

Just wondering if any of you have knowledge on adjusting PCI latency settings. I run Microsoft's Flight Simulator 9 and some people say that the frame rates can be improved by tweaking the PCI latency settings to speed things up. Is there a safe way to test out the different settings to see what works and how do I do it? Any feedback would be appreciated. I'd like to hear about the good and the bad. Thanks.
System Info: 64 Bit AMD....3.4Ghz with 1G RAM
64MB Gforce 2 card....I know, I need to upgrade.
Windows XP Pro........Serv. Pack-2 installed.

check in your bios.. I have a Intel mother board and it has it there. I presently have mine at .... shoot I dont remember its either 64 or 128.. and no Im not talking about agp. Not sure if it will give you any more frame per second but changing mine down did make the system tighter and it did help with pausing in games.

I was just wondering how your 64bit AMD is running at 3.4Ghz. Because the fastest 64bit is the FX-55 and that only runs at 2.60Ghz.

Do you have that thing majorly overclocked or what?

So the lower the number the tighter the frame rates? Did you experience any problems by changing these values? Am I going to cause "crashes" with any of my software?
