what are newsgroups? i hear their fastest and safest way to download.
how do you use them? and were do i find 1 i can't find anything on google (nothing i could understand). how safe are they, and are they fast, are they legal, and free? can any 1 explain these questions clearly!
Downloading from newsgroups is tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you will love it. The link mentioned above is where I learned how to use them. Plus there is an excellent forum on that website dedicated to the subject.
Ok, I read the guide (very helpful on getting started and getting current apps, thanks). I have downloaded a nfo file, this worked and I was able to open it this way, double clicked file. it opened in a window and I just added the .nfo extension and saved it. I was able to open in the suggested reader (not sure if this is correct way, but it appeared to be the only way I could find, as I am using outlook express as my news reader).
When I double clicked a .rar"yEnc (37/42), it pops up in the window, then searches for hyperlinks, ends with _rar_Enc (37/42) and I've tried to put .rar at end and various other things but it does not open with WinRAR, so I know I'm doing something wrong.
Sorry if this is basic, but I did not want to download all rar files, only to find out I did it wrong from the start. I know that there are other readers and probably easier ways to do this, but I was wondering if I can do this through outlook express as my news reader, and can graduate to others as I get more educated in this process, thanks.
