Okay, just recently, I was lookin through the forum, and found a thread about games that someone had burned. Well, I decided that I would make a thread about the exact opposite thing. Yes, this is a thread devoted to unsuccesfully burned games, or games that have to be re-built. Yes, this thread is about games that you cant just put the game in your DVD burner, turn on DVD Decryptor, then click read, then burn it directly to the DVD...or, as I might refer to it as the conventional or "normal" way. Now, if you have any problems burning any games, state the name of the game, then what problems occur while your trying to burn it and also state what program or method your using to burn it. Now, some people may call that "hi-jacking" the thread, but I don't beilive it is. But even so, I give anyone permission to do so on this thread, and this thread ONLY. K, I don't want to get in trouble for something stupid so...Anyway, heres my list of games that can't be burned the "normal" way.

1. Katamari Damacy
2. Mercenaries
3. Star Wars Battlefront
4. Call of Duty

NOTE: These are games that I have unsuccesfully burned using the "normal" method.

Again, if you have any othere games that can't be burned the "normal" way, then please post them here. Along with what program and method you used to burn them and what errors you may have had while you were trying to burn them.

okay the problem is you are using swap magic.swap magic cant play any backup games over 4.3gb without refreshing the toc.and games that are between 4gb-4.3gb have to be copied perfectly in order for them to play right.i copied sw bf straight out with sony dvd+r at 1x and it works great.did the same with verb dvd+r at 1x and had problems in menu screens.thats what i mean by a perfect copy, knowing which media is best for your drive and burning at the right speed.

mercenaries is over 4.3gb so you will have to extract the game then burn it with neros, unless you want to refresh the toc everytime you play the game.there is other ways of doing this without neros but you get the point.

@rusty#2

i wasnt going ballistic, just clarifing myself.i dont know what other burn software is on your compute, but i have drag n drop program i use to backup all my ps2 games up to 4.3gb.anything over that i extract the game files from an iso and burn with Nero or use cdvdgen then burn with decrypter.im sure any burn program could backup any ps2 games upto 4,3gb and work.but like i said swap magic has a problem with games over 4gb and more specifically 4.3gb.if you dont have a good grasp of your burn programs you might want to "rebuild" any game that is over 4gb from the get go(youll have more sucess and the game will run better as the size is decreased).but i get good copies so i dont" rebuild" until 4,3gb.

@ - 'Fan_Man'~

Its a program that comes with MOST sony Viao products
called 'Drag and drop' .
I re-build mine using isobuster, or apache 2.
Even the Nero method is better than Drag and drop.

Dont worry your not missing much.
Dvd decrypter and/or Alcohol 120% do a MUCH better Job.
For re-building use Nero or Isobuster or Apache 2 (DVD9 GAMES)

the point is not that i use drag n drop.the point is i dont see how any burn software that has a disc backup option couldnt copy a ps2 game under 4.3gb and not work(with the exception of a few bizzare games like champions:return to arms, whats with that game?).a disc backup option works exactly like using decrypter.the game is copied to your hard drive in a form of disc image then you swap out the game and put in the blank and burn it.the only difference is everything is done automatically with your disc backup option compared to manually selecting the iso to burn with decrypter.the games work fine.ive burned with decrypter and have had no noticeable improvement in game quality.to tell you the truth it is the same.now for games over 4.3gb you are going to need neros(an udf/iso option) or decrypter.

ive been having problems with ripping katamari damacy. it rips fine until the very end. DVD Decrypter has trouble with the last 128kb or so. i have also tried ripping with Nero and that also fails. is there some sort of copy protection? also, if someone does tell me how to rip the game, ill need to know how to burn it because apparently its not just a rip and burn type thing.
