Im having some problems with using Nero to burn DVD's. I place all the .ifo's and .vobs created in the video folder but after its done, my home DVD player wont 'see' the disc. Its not the media as I used DVDXCOPY and it played the discs then. Its 5.5.9.9.

Try installing an older version of Nero. I was using Nero 5.5.10.0 with my Pioneer A05 but there was a bug in Nero so I went back to using an older version which works fine now.

I'm using Nero 5.5.9.17. I also use the software that came with my drive.

I use Nero 5590 and had good luck using DVDrom (udf) mode. BUT have even better luck using PrimoDVD to burn the VIDEO_TS folder.

This is the reply I got from Ahead regarding the incompatibility of the latest version of Nero (5.5.10.0) with standalone sets :

Dear customer,

This is a known common problem. Other users have experienced this problem. Our Engineers are aware of this problem and seeking a solution.

A patch will be implemented in the next release which will be available in about 4 weeks

I also produced coasters with 5.5.10.0
have gone back to the last but one version
I never had a problem with 5.5.9.9

version 5.5.10.7b came out today which is supposed to have fixed these playback problems on some DVD players.

Let me know if this has fixed your problem. Hopefully they will now play in almost all players!

YES!!! It works now!

I have been using 5.5.10 and have been unable to make a +R work in any of my standalone players, no matter how I burned the disc. I upgraded to 5.5.10.7 today and got one to work on my first try. I burned it as an ISO disc and checked the box on the burn screen that says something to the effect of "use CD-ROM book value". Works perfectly in my player. I am currently watching Reservoir Dogs in DTS stereo on my standalone DVD player on DVD+R.
