DUAL LAYER DISK TO STANDARD DISC?

I have an "original" movie that is on a dual layer disc. I use DVDXCOPY EXPRESS and it works great for me, but my question is, does anyone know if I can copy this dual layer movie to a single 4.7gb disc, and if so, how would I go about doing that? I've tried 3-4 times and it reads the movie just fine, but as soon as I start the "write" process I instantly get a "disk writing error". My error log at the bottom reads "files to big for dvd media". If anyone has any ideas or information on this issue I would appreciate your input very much in advance!

If you are using DVDXCopy Express that will compress and burn your disk, unless this is an unusually long movie. You can try free programs DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter guides on the process are available at this site
