Well Dude845 you really limit your options there. I live in Canada and use BitTorrent 70% of the time.
I can only suggest trying www.ircspy.com, read their guides, learn how to use and set-up an IRC client such as mIRC.
They now have a really cool little XDCC server auto-get downloader application feature that saves you the user the hassle of getting right into mIRC jargon.
I've never heard of an ISP with torrent blocking software.
Usually if I suspect slow connectivity, I'll call my ISP and say "What's Up?", I'm paying for a service, and I damn well want my money's worth!

Don't give up Dude, it is not really that complicated.
If you've done what I've said you should be on your way.
I took the time to go over this thread and follow the steps I've given you and have no problem.
So, what part don't you get?

You specifically find the files using the search bar at the top of www.ircspy.com's web page!!
You'll see info like , the XDCC server, channel#, filesize, queues, server speed, etc.
Then you'll see a nice little list of all the matches for your query.
If you took the time to read the guides there, you would know:
1. you'll need mIRC ( an IRC client)
2. how to configure it to accept incoming files
3. how to download the new easy autodownloader
I specifically can't tell you anymore man, if you can't figure this out your SOL ( shit outa luck ).
I give up!

I've only recently got into downloading via Bit Comet, but might give this a go as well.
I'll have a go by following the steps outlined in this thread..

dude845,
open mIRC once you have followed the guides from previous posts, connect to a server (I chose Efnet). open up the ircspy web page and do a search for whatever file needed on the top right. It will post the results to the bottom of the page. Choose what file you want and click on the icon to the left hand side. This will save a file to location of your choice (I chose the desktop). double click on the file and it should dtart downloading much like bittorrent.
Hope this helped.

@dude, if you go into the channel and the bot is not online see if another bot in the channel or list on ircspy.com has it.
If not, just check back to the channel in a few hours.
Also, make sure that "Display Offline Bots" is set to "No".

Thanx to all who jumped in to help Dude out!
So, I said I use Bittorrent 70 % of the time. IRC 10%, FTP 10% and regular P2P apps 10% of the time.
FTP servers are another excellent way do download stuff. Here one would need a client such as Cute FTP Pro or Flash FXP
This is a whole different ball of wax, maybe I'll make a guide and post it!!

Hi all,
I'm not exactly new to FTP downloading, but I'm finding it very hard to find any sites to connect to. Are there websites that have list of FTP sites or do I have to do something else?
P.S are you allowed to post FTP locations?
Yours Truly,
Mr Handsome
