I was juss wondering, how long should it take to burn a full 8x single layer dvd (roughly 4.3 GB). With Nero, it always says 6 min at start but ends up taking 10 mins. I have changed the firmware on my NEC 3500 a few times but no changes. It does this always with video backups and data (by the way, this does not include the time to read the dvd juss write the data). Is this the correct time to burn an 8x dvd, 9-10 mins? thanks

Sorry a correction. The time it takes to burn a 8x media that is recognised by the NEC 3500 to be burned at 12x. I have used many different media including prodisc and taiyo yuden yet i burn a 8x disc that is supposed to be burning at 12x in 9-10mins. what is the correct time to burn a dvd at 12x? thanks
