i have re formatted after a nightmare but when i try to install windows xp pro(which i have done tons of times) after about 10 mins the pc shuts down then restarts with a blue screen saying xp cannot install due to a corrupt c: drive than it says press f3 to reboot
any ideas?

bad disk, bad rom drive, bad hd. reseat all data cables to motherboard & drives. wash cd carefully. try another rom drive &/or hd.
