This is just some info for a problem that came up for the first time today with this unit.
I've had the unit for months now with no other problems.
I put in a dvd-r that had been burned on my computer.
The screen came up with an "incompatable" error.
This has happened before and usually I just eject the offending dvd and move on.
This time the unit kept going into self check mode and wouldn't allow me to eject the dvd.
I tried of course to unplug it and let it sit for a while but when I booted it up the same thing happened. Tried to read the disc, couldn't, and then continually loop the self check mode.
I finally ended up taking the unit apart and removing the disc.
Everything works fine now.
Too bad there wasn't a pin hole to manually eject discs like on computer dvd drives.

If it ever happens again do this. With the unit OFF, press and hold "Power", "Stop" and "Channel Up" for 5 seconds.

Same thing happened to me last week. I ended up taking mine apart to remove the offending DVD-RAM disk. I tried to erase a show from it and my unit did the same thing as Robell's.
I would've loved to fix it an easier way, but my unit had a mind of it's own and endlessy repeated the cycle. It wouldn't respond to and key presses I tried.
Is there a key combo to press to break it out of a loop like that?

For DVD-RAMs in the endless cycle I disconnect the hard drive power. This stops the cycle and allows the eject button to work.
