reciently upgraded from windows 95, having problem with playing audio (midi, wav, mp3, etc) it always sounds like a scratched CD would sound -skip-skip-skip-skip-skip-skip-.
the only thing that actually plays right is the CD Player, it plays perfectly but for games and such -skip-skip-skip-skip-

How fast is your computer? I've never heard problems with win98 like yours. Perhaps you should different audio programs like Winamp: http://classic.winamp.com/download/download.jhtml;$sessionid$43OZFWOOVEHRPTN24UYBC0Q?_DARGS=%2Fdownload%2Findex.jhtml

Short of that, might I suggest that you upgrade once again to something like win2k/xp, I mean, with 95 or 98 you couldn't even copy a ps2 game like your nick says you play.

The sound is more like a tapping/knocking sound I guess, it's hard to describe. You can here sound but it's the same sound no matter what you play.(except for Music CD's)
At first 98 played the sound alright but about a couple hours later nadda, is getting descouraging, have reinstalled my sound card twice thinking that was the prob..... nope.
have reinstalled the sound files from the 98 CD, still no difference.
*@$#$#% Windows 98 :(

Oh yeah, I use a seperate system for my burni... heh... making my back ups :)
