when i play cds the sound works fine and all..im using a creatives soundblaster live (d800) soundcard ....im pretty shure all the wires are pluged in good cuz cds work just fine...just when the dvd play theres picture its playing but there no sound......any help thanx

how many rom drives do you have?? how many connectors on back of card as my sb live has 5 connections besides game port. my spkrs are hooked to the green connector

i have 1 dvd/cd burner master and 1 dvd rom drive slave......i have 5 connectors and game port...5.1 channel speakers are hooked to the orange, black , green

if you got sound when windows loads, sound when playing cds but no sound fron dvds presuming movies than must be a software problem. what program are you using for playing dvds??

thats pretty strange.. must be your soundcard software.. try reinstalling.. or on my software.

i click on start/programs/ then the creative, since i have a creative sound card..

and it has a button for set defaults. that usually fixes any problem i get.
