Try another cable?
Does the PC attempt to dial out at all?
Have you setup the details within the modem configuration?
Have you setup the correct telephone number/settings within internet explorer?

self diagnostic can say 1 thing but modem will do other as learned from experience. more than likely blew a component on the modem jack section as come across that a couple of times. i presume modem is built in, correct??

LOLLOL Sometimes, I will try to help and find out that the person having the trouble, has already tried what I suggested. It is like I have gone brain dead, and can't read everything in the origninal post. :(

Damn, you must be too frigging young. You remembered.

I remember an oops way back when, but it wasn't the Agent Orange affect. It was the cold Minnesota winter that did it that time.

Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :)
