Hi, I'm new to this forum, nice to meet you all.
I wish to understand whether a BADLY vibrating CD can ruin a DVD±R/RW Dual Layer drive. None of the other CDs I own vibrates like that. Huge noise, and the whole notebook vibrates too. When I clicked on Eject through MS Windows XP, I saw the trayer spring out for like 2 millimeters and then get back inside its slot, as if the CD got out of place while inside the notebook, that is, off of the rotating pin one sticks it on, and prevented the drive to open again. Notice that the CD had span inside the drive that bad for the whole file transfer of 690 MBs big data from the CD to the Hard Drive. My notebook is still under warranty, so I can get it replaced with a working one if the drive is broken.
Could such a drive potentially get broken or cause something else in the machine to break after such a bad performance, and is there any means to find out whether it actually happened or not?
Thanks in advance for your kind answer,
Suhel
