Ok, I've followed just about everything on here trying to get Bit Tornado to increase my download speeds, and I am still stuck at downloads of 0-35kb's and uploads 0-50kb's after all this time. Actually, I've been stuck at 0 with green lights most of the time with downloads trickling in at super low rates. It takes me WEEKS to get stuff...I am not joking.

Here is what I have:

Windows XP: Home Edition: SP1
Cable Modem Access
Router: Network Everywhere NR041

I've uninstalled my personal firewall. I have my port ranges set to 6881-6889 and randomized box checked.

Currently, I've been trying to change the settings on Bit Torando between "dsl/cable fast" to "automatic" without much luck.

Usually, I get a green light after a few minutes, although it hangs in yellow for a while sometimes.

Is this just because there are 2 seeds and 1 peer? Is that the problem or do I need to look elsewhere and change other settings?

I also usually have 3 torrent downloads going at the same to the same folder...does that have something to do with slowing up the speed also? I wouldn't think so, because I've tried closing them all out and letting one just run on its own and it doesn't increase the download rate.

Man, I download from Newsgroups without any problems whatsoever.

Any suggestions for this newbie?

1. Your torrent is low on seeds+ other peers.
2. You should ONLY have 1 torrent going at a time.
3. You should LIMIT your upload. I have limitted mines to "23" mess about with the numbers until you find that sweet spot that results in more kb/s
4. Consider a different client, ie. BitLord

Thanks Mik3h...I tried all of your suggestions, but still I have very slow download rates.

How many seeds/peers are usually present to get better download speeds?

BTW, sweet Iron Maiden pic!

you should look for 20-30 active seeds,and lots of peers

i use Azureus on a 1 mb connection,and get 100 + kb/s regular,downloading at max also..= 25-30 kb/s

download speeds all depends on what you are pulling off

if you are downloading say a film/movie you are likely to get higher speeds,as these users are more likely to be "older" in age,and more sympathetic to leechers by not limiting the upload speeds of there torrents,
whereas games (used more by younger people),tend to be more slower as a whole,as the younger members of the community may not have such a view on this,if you get my drift,and slow the upload speed,which may give them a better download speed..
i am not targeting this at the younger ones,its just my opionion on things
