I've always backed up my movies and burned with nero dvd video mode. I've had my drive for almost a year and I've encountered many bad burns. I've tried different media brands including Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Memorex, TDK, Sony, and Fujifilm. I've had bad burns with all of them (even burning at 2.4 and 4x speeds). Many times I'll go to back up a movie and the first time I try to burn it, it will have a bad burn (where u can actually see the bad burn sector on the dvd ink), however, if I try to burn it again immediately afterwards, it will work just fine. So many of my 50pk spindles have actually turned into 25pks because of this. I can't say that this happens all the time, but I can't understand why so many burns can go wrong. If someone could please shine some light on this for me I'd be very appreciative.
