I currently use DVD X Copy Platinum as my DVD backup software. I am having problems with compressing some DVD?s and DVD X Copy Platinum has problems breaking some of the CSS encryptions, but it works 95% of the time so I still want to use it. I have noticed a new software called 1 Click DVD Copy and I would like to load a trial version of it and see how it works. It also would require me downloading DVD43Free. If I were to download these two programs and use them, would it alter or change any settings on my computer or DVD recorder. (firmware settings, vso, etc). Would I notice any changes to DVD X Copy Platinum? I had a heck of a time getting DVD X Copy Platinum to work in the first place and I do not want to jeopardize not being able to use it. If I did not like 1 Click DVD Copy I could just delete it along with DVD43Free. Any answers of suggestions? Thanks

I have had DVD43 installed for over a year along with more than a dozen other video programs, never experienced any problem. But you should take care to install the really 'free version'. To play safe, set a restore point before installing any new program.
On the other hand, why not try Decrypter and Shrink, both free and very good?

It is indeed going, but not yet gone. The latest version remains to be very effective. Use it wisely with Shrink and/or Nero and you'll still make yourself proud.

If your really in love with Xcopy which cannot be update anymore, then download free trial version of DVDFab Gold, it is a repackaged Xcopy and works with the same VSO burning engine only updated and it has a ripper. It can compress and split.

Hi there,
There are so many good programs out there, forget about DVD Xcopy Platinum.
--> AnyDVD (Updated all the time, and worth to buy)
--> DVD Shrink (Free)
--> DVD Decrypter (Free / No longer updated / v3.5.4.0 = Latest and Last)
DVDXCopy 321Studio is old, it's unsupported, and will not get updated.
And also doesn't let you choose burning speed.
VSO 1ClickDvdCopy is quite nice I hear because you can choose the burning speed (Uses VSO CopyToDVD to burn) and those are updated all the time.
InterVideo DVD Copy 3 I heard makes high quality results, but most people don't burn with it. They write to a HD dir, then burn with Nero.
My 2 cents...
