I don't know about your question but I was wondering how your video card performs. I don't have enough money for a 6600 GT and I was going to buy an X700 or X600.

You can go in any comp shop and buy a video card without motherboard, the 'dual' cards are no different. Just make sure you buy the same card as you currently have for running pci-e.

Probably never. The way the cards work means that it needs to be run on a SLI board (blame nvidia for that, they wont release the drivers for single slot boards) but also needs the drivers for single card sli built into the motherboard bios, thats why it comes as a package pair

Mind you that card/motherboard is only AUD$900 which is cheaper than mobo/card/card separate.

I wouldnt buy it for the fact that one card/mobo dies you may as well chuck the other half out. At least a single graphics card can be replaced/moved onto a different board/upgraded when necessary

In my opinion Kinza, save the extra cash and buy the 6600GT you'll feel alot better. And i'm not some snooty rich kid telling you this. Right now i'm thinking about lining up a summer job in order to pay for it. the X600 and X700 are good but if you want a card that will be a little more future proof, buy the 6600GT from here: http://www.buyxg.com/store/item.asp?id=870&catid=138

I don't do much gaming, but I'll scrap up the money from somewhere. Now I'm doing a summer job so that'll help a lot.

id stay away from sli for a while, it only works once nvidia releases drivers for each game, otherwise it runs in single card mode. Me, i hate updating drivers every week, so im getting 6800gt shortly
