Hi Guyz ..

I would like to mention that i'm good in making DVDs no matter if it's AVI or Mpeg, with full profissional menus and features, so, i'm not just a beginner in this business, it's my living .. i'm a movie editor ...

i'm facing a problem i didn't face before, and i donno why it's happening now, i used to do my work on a simple Pentium 3 computer, it used to take a hell of a time but the work was small, now i bought 2 computers of 3.6GHz CPU 1Mb CM, 1Gb of RAM 522 BS, 400Gb ATA-HD, 256Mb AGP, LCD 17inch, bla bla ...

the problem is like that, when i used to make movies on the old computer, i used to rip using A1 DVD Ripper with DivX 5.2 Pro codec, the quality was perfect, the pictures is so smooth, and nothing went wrong, now i use the same software, the same codec and the same setting, and on the new computer i see pixels, and it's really big ones, ofcourse i checked the source, nothing is wrong, i checked the settings many times, i started changing them and i did everything that is possible, but, no use ...

so is it me, or the LCD Screens are bad for movie editing ?? cause when i used to watch my movies on TV, it was something, beautiful quality !! also on my old computer !!! so anybody has any idea ?

another problem, when u back up a dvd using the shrink, it doesn't give the same quality as the original DVD .. why ?

and finally what's the best software that some one can recommend to rip a dvd to divx or xvid with good quality and normal size .. same as the stuff we download using P2P software !!!

hi

i own a hansol gaming monitor a crt now this baby is very crisp, but for dvd backup my tv looks better, it may be just codecs? all i have is the k-lite mega pack is has every codec needed! so i dont take the look as final on the pc i try it out on tv's!

dvd shrink isnt great on big movies of say 6/7/8 gig, many use dvd rebuilder / CCE and for me on a big movie only i use avi2dvd / CCE

and sorry no idea on dvd to divx/xvid dont do it....

Hi Rotary ..

i found out it's only the LCD, no problem using codecs or normal screens.. i just copied a sample of a movie i did and i find out nothing is wrong with it .. and i even viewed it on a projector screen .. it's cool .. i will try the software u recommended .. i really need to find a good software to rip dvds to divx or xvid with good resolution and decent size, exactly like the stuff we download .. cause i work as VJ at night doing trance parties and stuff like that .. and in the morning i work from home making DVDs for weddings and stuff .. but something so special and so profissional with effects and nice things .. even the menus i make in the DVD is animated or as they ask for it ..

so please guyz any ideas !! and thanx rotary !!
