Why would DVD Decrypter be forced out of business? I guess I have no clue what the laws are on CSS decrypting? Can someone explain the laws? DVD X Copy (321studio) is put out of business because they had a built in or integrated ripper. Why would DVD Decrypter be forced out? What is the future for anydvd, CSS Region, DVD43free?
Please search, read and search some more and you will learn more that you really want to know about the laws in various countries concerning defeating CSS protections.
The MPAA doesn't want movies being pirated and distributed across the internet, and the only way to get them on the internet or to burn them is to decrypt them. DVD Decrypter was a great ripper (and still is) and it's free, so most people use it. That's why they decided to go after Lightning UK (creator of dvd decrypter), also being freeware, he probably doesn't have the money to fight them about it, therefore no more Decrypter updates.
Don't know about DVD43 or CSS Region, but Slysoft (anydvd's company) is located in Antigua, a little island in the Carribbean where these laws do not mean anything, so AnyDVD is safe at this point.
