Hi, been backing up DVD's for some years now, only recently came accross difficult encryption. Using DVDD and AnyDVD, trying to extract [Movie Closer] made by Sony, can't get past 3% getting read errors.
Tried file extraction, and ISO, no luck. Here's the log file from DVDD if anyone want's to look at it and perhaps let myself and others know if they are having the same probs with Closer.

- New: Added support for a new version of the "Sony ARccOS
protection" as found on "Closer" R2 (UK, German, Italian)
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable
Sectors" (it should really work now).
- Fix: If AnyDVD was disabled, the "no drive" dialog could
be displayed.
- Fix: If AnyDVD was first disabled and then enabled within
the settings dialog, disc changes were no longer correctly
detected.
- Fix: Bug which could prevent correct backup of early Arccos
protected titles, e.g. Wrestlemania 3 (UK)
- Some minor fixes and improvements

download DVD43 have that running in background run dvdd in file mode
then use shrink and burn with apporiate software if got Nero shrink will burn image for you this is the only combo that will crack this movie to my knowledge hope this helps

I just ripped closer with anydvd 5.2.3.1 and dvd decrypter 3.5.4. No probs at all.

we been though this BEFORE AnyDVD rips it fine ,i used it with Intervideo DVDCopy3. BTW the movie is horrible

I used DVD Decrypter on this movie, no problems. You may be getting that error for a different reason?
