OK OK OK. I have no idea what it is. Besides for the fact it stands for Hardware Transform & Lighting. What does it do? Durring my searches I only found I Video Card that said it supported Hardware T&L. Do they all now? One last question. How do I find out what kinds of ports I have for video cards.

Yes it was made by compac and it says my graphics engine is a Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controler. Does this mean i can't get a new video card.

to confirm that you don't have an agp slot, open the case & look at the motherboard as you are looking for a brown slot alongside the white pci slots & about the same length as a pci slot.

Okay what would you reccomend for a motherboard. A video card was for my brithday. Now that i can't put one in without a brown slot that sorta limits that what would you reccomend. I've got a Celeron 2.4 in a Compac Presario Tower. Recoomend inexpensive items pleease and could you point me in the direction of a good video card.

what is tha wattage marked on the psu & how many pins on the atx power connector & does it have the extra motherboard power connectors like the 4pin square connector & the 6pin inline connector. if get a new motherboard you might have to modify the case wiring to fit the new motherboard like the leds & power button. does the case have a reset button as normally name brand computers don't??

your psu is underpowered as should be 300+ watts. check the dimensions of your psu as might be different from standard psus. standard dimensions is 5 13/16"w x 3 5/16"h x 5.5"d. run this program & add 30% to total http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/Power_Supply_Calculator.p...

presuming your cpu is a 478 socket than try either 1 of asus motherboard like in this link http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/mbindex.htm or use a biostar p4vma-m that i'm using that has onboard video but also has a 4/8x agp slot, 2 ddr slots & 2 sata connectors

with the calculator check to see what the actual power requirements are on your current system to see if 115 watts was actually enough

dimm stand for dual inline memory module so can be both sdram or ddr. ddr ram has 1 notch off center at the bottom whereas sdram has 2 notches so can't be reversed
