I got Azureus as my bittorrent client, i recently have change from dial up 2 dsl 2mbit connection. the fastest ive gottin downloading is 20 kb/s. Ive tried the port forwarding, tcp limit for sp2. Im currently running on XP SP2, D-link 302g adsl modem connected via onboard 10/100 mb/s ethernet port. i can say that i have increased from 0-3 kb/s to 4-16 kb/s. ive tried heaps of different port even ramdom ones all configed properly, yet no luck.

Can someone help me?

Have you completed a download. Due to Azureus using seeding, the d/load speeds tend to increase as the d/load progreses.

I have compleated downloads with my dail up (cant say that i am sharing at this point cause i just reinstall my OS), i got the dsl like last week so i was tring to figure out how 2 get it downloading faster. i think maybe it's my Windows XP SP2 thats slowing down the downloads so im download an sp1 OS to see if thats the problem

try not using the sp2 firewall and use zone alarm as your firewall. it is easier to configure. after that double check which port is open and all should be good. i think that windows firewall might be the cause of slow downloads. let us know how it comes out.

Try calling your ISP and asking if you have a Dynamic or Static I.P. address. If they say Dynamic there is your problem. I just went though this same problem and tried everything I cold find on the net and made up on my own. I got the idea to try my phone line and I got no nat error. This eliminated any settings with my comp. I changed to a Static I.P. and it did cost extra a month like $9.95 but I would bet it would be lower for you. Now? No more nat error. I have green smileys and now that I DO have a firewall up and forward the ports it still works. Easiest trouble shooting is call your ISP. Hope this helps.

P.S. If you do change to Static it will take between 24-48hrs. then they will call you and give it to you. But they should be telling you that anyway.

I install zone alarm now set it all up. It got me my green smiles back, i accidently set one of forwarded ports wrong prevously. I set my comp for a static ip but the ip still changes i use the info from portforwarding.com for static ip. Ill ring my isp when i finsh downloading another Windows xp if thats no luck.

If you are getting slow downloads with Azureus try this:
Go to Tools and click on configuration wizard then click next and select adsl/cable xxx/1024 kbps now click next 2 times then close it. Then right click your download and go to advanced and then networks(add a check to the three of them) still in advance set download speed to no limit and whatch your speed raise!
I get up to 200kB/s with DSL connection!
Hope it works for you!

Its all about Azureus V 2.2.0.2 I think thats the last verion they released without a governer, so its not a cpu and memory hog. If your haveing problems go back to the older version 2.2.0.2

Hello all I have the dreaded slow dowload rate as well. Have tried all above and even changed from Azureus 2.3.0.6 to 2.2.0.2 and still have the problem. My download is set at unlimited and gets from 5k to 15k upload tried at all settings currently at 10k.

Or are there better units other than Azureus around.

First time at this at 512k/128 speed my speed have become slower over the 1 week I have been trying this.

Thanking you in advance

so try to download a excelent test torrent with a lot of seeders (50 and more). Some torrents are very slow and you cannot do with this nothing. Try for example this: (about 1300 seeders)
