I have a Intel Pentium 4, 3Ghz (with HT technology) processor. The temp of the processor is from 65C to 80C. I just want to know if this is normal, becouse the "Intel Active Monitor" keeps alerting me that the temp is too high.

Can someone please tell me what is the normal temp for this processor.

Btw I have two extra fans on the case so I think the air flow is not the problem. If I open the case the CPU is even hotter.

Everything is in place, the fan is running.

So you are saying that this temperature is too high?

yeah those temps a bit high there wingmaker. The two extra fans you mentioned do you have them set up as one for intake and one exaust?
What size case fans do you have there?
What rpm (speed)is your cpu fan running at? Any unusual noise comming from any of the fans e.g. like there struggling to spin?
Have you overclocked the cpu at all?

Yeah, wingmaker, that's pretty hot. I also have a 3ghz HT P4, also, (a prescott). Right now i'm encoding video and it's only at 54C. If I was you i'd keep that thing turned off until I found out what the problem was. Personaly.

The CPU fan is spining at aprox. 2500 rpm. The front case fan is blowin the air in, and the rear fan is taking the air out. There is also an opening in the case for the CPU fan, so I think the processor is getting enough air. There are no noises coming from the fan, the fan is spinning normally. The CPU is not overclocked. There are no gaps between the CPU and the heatsink.

Is it possible that the temperature sensor is malfunctioning?
