Is this dvd impossible to burn?? I have tried several times - I have dvd X COpy Xpress version 3.2.1.0 and I get an error at about 25% saying "Error occured reading sectors!Data: 1/0" and then I say ok and get "UnableReadDVD". Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks!

Download DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink both are free. Ditch the X-Copy

Yes YOU Can! Hi! New to the forum. I wanted to pipe in and say that I backed up my copy of Hitch. I have several programs that I'm like...for longer movies I use Dvd Rebuilder pro (CCE/QuEnc); easyrdvd (HC), for shorter movies I use CloneDVD 2 (Slysoft); 1 Click and Cloner II. I will use Decrypter/Dvd2One as well. I have enjoy using DVDXPlatinum and have successfully back-up Hitch, House of Flying Daggers, The Forgotten, and many others (I'm kind of like a movie junkie close to 450 DVDs). PlatinumXdoes did a fabulous job. I really enjoy CloneDVD 2. Does an amazing job (especially when using compression). Shrink, AnyDVD, Region-Free are also a part of the package. I have backed up at least 250 dvds and had 7 coasters. Iuse a variety of media (I always burn between 2x and 4x.
Try CloneDVD 2 (Slysoft) on trial for 30 days. I also recommending Shrink (free) with Deep Analysis/Sharp(Default) for longer movies. Burningoptions I use are Nero/CopytoDvd/Img burn tool (nero engine).
It is possible to back-up Hitch.
Hang in there!

Oh my god! By the time I figure this out.....I appreciate the help. I am so confused. I have used XCopy Xpress without any problems this far - I suppose this dvd won't go with that though? I've downloaded Shrink and Decryter now. I am trying to read how to do it, but I may have to do this tomorrow, too much thinking for one night. DO I also nee something like Nero now?

Oops! dvdrasy (HC encoder by HAnks) does an amazing job. I still feel that rebuilder with CCE is pretty phenomenal, but for a copy of key strokes CloneDVD 2 is fanatstic.
hope this can help.

Ok, so I download it thru Decrypter and burn thru Shrink right? Or shrink it through shrink and burn thru something else? One last time, please help!

I know it seems like a lot of info. Be patient and use the guides. That is how I figured out the numerous programs and how each one worked to my advantage, ease, and time. I started off with Decrypter and Shrink. Both free and actually pretty easy to use. I used the guides located at Afterdawn and Doom9. Step by step! Don't worry about making mistakes. I mentioned Nero (burning software). I like a lot of control and both Nero and CopyToDvd gives you that flexibility. Some 1 click programs do not...no problem just use media that has max speeds of 4x. I know others burn at 8x, but I have found 4x gives me perfect back-ups. Shrink allows you the ability to control individual compression for Titles, Main Movie, and Extras or you can re-author with the Main movie and extras. Don't be afraid to make a few coasters along the way.

kbunny226 there are several programs to use but Decrypter and Shrink are what I would recommend to start with. At this time I do not belive there is a dvd that Decrypter cannot rip. Can't say the same for X-Copy, it has trouble with many newer dvds

Thanks for all the help. I am reading it thru decrypter now; and going to bed since I have like an hour to wait. Then I guess I will attempt shrink in the morning, but the dvd+r's I have are 16X. I hope that's ok. We're gonna see how I do - I have one dvd left :)

You use decrypter to decrypt the files. decrypter can also burn your back-up, but you need to use ISO (1st Read/ then Write) located in the Mode Tab. There is a guide at Afterdawn and doom9 that walks you through using File, IFO, and Iso. You really do not need Decrypter, just put your movie in, run shrink, then press Open button that opens the disk. Confirm that the correct disk information is right. Once you hit o.k. Shrink does a basic analysis. Then it brings you to a screen with the Titles, Movie, and Extras. Look at the compression for the main movie. I suggest not going under 60%. I back-up The Last Samurai (over 2 1/2 hours) with CloneDVD 2...looks absolutely perfect. I typically only want the Main Movie, but occasionally I will ad the Main Menus. Once you decide to use either the complete deal or you simply press re-author and then you drag the Main movie from the right side to the left side. Check your compression. If you need to raise it just unclick some of the subtitle/audio options. Once you get a desirable number press back-up. Once completed it will ask you to removie the movie and place in the tray a dvd-r, dvd+r, or even dvd -/+ rw. Burn your movie.
I hope this helps.

Yep, that should help. I am going to do it that way...so I should look for no more than roughly 60%, right?

Xcopy Xpress will burn Hitch but you need DVD43 in the background. Also you might want to slow down the burn speed to to 4x speed. DVD43 is free. Just click blue highlight of it, you'll go right to it for download. AnyDVD is the best, although it's not free but it will work with Xcopy Xpress as well.

Someone mentioned that u did not need decrypter with this movie, only DVD Shrink. I found that to be erroneous in my case. Hitch and Are We There Yet? have been two movies that Shrink had a lot of problems with; atleast in my case. I had to use DVD Decrypter and then used Shrink to burn the ISO files with Nero. Each of these movies froze during analyzing when using just Shrink.

I tyred useing shrink and like everyone else it stopped at 12 or 13%. I than used dvd decryptor.Which tackled the job but, I could figure out how to shrink it after that to make it fit(if someone could give me some info id love it) So i went to any dvd wich worked like a charm... I hate to pay for a progam that I only use once or twice a mounth but, I gotta say it works and makes thing simple

overclocked p4 to 3.3ghz
asus p5p800
3.5 gigs ram

I found it to be confusing at first too. If I had read the guides first I could have saved myself some grief I guess but oh well...
After I used DVD Decrypter I closed it and opened DVD Shrink. I went to file and clicked "disc image" where I found the file for Hitch and opened it. Then I was able to click on backup and burn the movie. One thing that happened to me though was when I use re-author I get a blank screen at the beginning of the movie and then have to skip ahead to start the movie. That doesn't happen when I do full disc backup. I hope I explained that correctly. I'm at work now so I can't retrace my steps to make sure that I am saying this the right way. Please someone, correct me if I am wrong (nicely though ;0P)
