Looking to purchase a DVD need info on GOOD-BETTER & BEST your expertise is needed. I have looked at many but hard to know which one when you are a newbe.Thanks for the help.

I personally like Plextor the best, NEC second. The NEC firmware is a little boring, riplock and no bit setting available. But with hacked firware both of those are taken care of. Some people are uncomforable with hacked firmware as it voids your warranty. Check this out, they get fairly indepth

3520 to be honest I was no aware of 3540 did I make a mistake? I just did not see it advertised. I guess this is what happens when you get old, things just get by you..thanks for your help. Dick

i'll third that~ am pleased with mine as well~ :) has aland or either of you received the 3540 yet? i think he mentioned he ordered one, i wonder how that is going for him?

sorry to get off topic, i might pick up a 3540 for later use if i find the feedback is good on it~ :)
the 3520 works GREAT for me now, i don't use it all that often, but, it has yet to fail me~

Haven't seen ALAND on line lately, so don't know if he got the 3540.
I haven't researched it enough to see what it can do over the 3520.
