What a complete joke, I backed up "hitch" in 30 minutes. According to the CSS crowd it contains the latest encryption. What a complete joke it contains 10% bad unmovable sectors. Which doesnt stop any program that backsup using file transfer (like DVD decrypter) it simply goes around the bad sectors. Im totally disapointed with macrovision and the CSS crowd. All their resources and money and they come up with that protection garbage. I think my toddler could handle my DVD burner for me im bored. Has anyone thought about forming a think tank for money to help macrovision? Of course all those on the inside of the tank would have the encryption keys for demo purposes. Oh yeah I forgot encryption doesnt work as all new encryption must still work in legacy machines. Oppps forgot about that one I guess Hollywood is doomed?

Well normally I use just shrink, however I heard that "hitch" would be using state of the art encryption and/or protection techniques. But after using decrypter in less than 30 minutes it ripped it.

i did used decrypter but, after i did it, i realized i didn't have to because i then used dvd95copy which did everything; broke the code,ripped and burned. and about 35 minutes also
Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

With respect I say....Dont shoot yourself in the foot and Please dont Jinx us Mega. It was just the same old decryption and DVDD walked right through it ..as always. However, I share in your excitement!! Good Going!!
Thanks

Yes this movie was no different than The Forgotten, Resident Evil, Spanglish to name a few. Maybe 1 or 2 more bad sectors. I haven't even updated AnyDVD from 4.6.3.1 to 5.2.4.2 yet and had no problems using it with Recode.

Rushman is that because you like the band? Yeah I dont want to jinx (sp?) anyone. It just when I looked at the bad sectors I thought whoa heres something special (by the way take a look at the movie "Be Cool" its another tricky one) Its definetly getting harder but thats all part of the fun. Hey binkie "Hitch" didnt have like a couple of bad sectors it had like 4% of the disk being bad which is HUGE! Although it doesnt even effect file copiers it hard on sector copiers. I feel like I just got into the boxing ring with mike tyson (in the 80's), and somehow ducked and weived and tired mike out with air blows only to win the fight because mike got tired of chasing me around the dressing room. Yeah it feels good.

I have the trial version of AnyDVD and I actually ran into a problem with Hitch. I get a message that AnyDVD is skipping the bad sector and gives me the number, but it took 30 minutes and was only 24% complete. Does the regular version have more bells and whistles or is anyone else having issues with Hitch using AnyDVD?

You're confusing removing encryptions with ripping. AnyDVD is not a ripper. It presents the disc to your ripper as unencrypted and region free. Your ripper or disc reader is probably at fault.

BTW, Be Cool is also nothing special. Perfect copy via AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2.

I donno I dont use AnyDVD I use DVD43 but your wrong about encryption it is still present and is reported by Decrypter or Shrink even what the key code is. I also used DVD Xcopy Platinum on "Be Cool" it seemed to have alot of problems with DVD Decrypter and shrink wouldnt read it at all. I tried 3 different computers with different configurations. I finally desided to let a sector copier work on it as I needed to feed my son so platinum got it done. No matter what hollywood tries its always going to fail. If they lowered the prices no buddy would care about the price of that 2nd disk. In my case I really dont need the disk anyway once I rip it its perminently in my hard drive menu system.

Used DVD decryptor, with DVD43 running in the background, to the hard drive, then Nero recode, no problem with Closer.

@megabyte2
Never said the movie "Be Cool" wasn't encrypted - said it was nothing special and that AnyDVD or for that matter any other good decrypter couldn't handle.

laugh and poke fun at the companies till they sue your software company and everyone loses...hence the sad lost of DVD Decrypter, it's great that you decrypt it, there's no need to gloat or pound your chest....

Here's the offical Hitch thread for help:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/200764 Without seeing the errors messages - if your using the most recent version of DDVD you may have a bad press or smudged DVD. Try cleaning the disc. Shrink will not handle the CSS on this movie by itself.

Yeah shrink will not do it alone. Use DVD Decrypter first then burn with shrink.
