Hi to all!!
I still having problems with my back ups.
After ripping the movie eith DVD decryptor, this is what I do.
Open Ifoedit and C:Original VTS_XX_0.IFO (where the movie is) Selected VOB extras, Leaved the defaults and also checked create new IFOS.
Opened a destination directory, selected the subpictures and subtitules I wanted to keep, selected the id¨s, and then strip it.
When finished, checked the size of the file (4.2 G) open again ifoedit, open the file created VIDEO_TS.ifo and choose Get VTS sectors.
Then I burned with Nero.

What happened is that I can see the movie in my Cyberhome dvd tabletop, but not in a pionner 434 (That also reads dvd-r) and this happened with other dvd that reads DVD r as well.
Can someone tell me what´s going on?
What am I doing wrong, and why some dvd-r reads the dvd and othres don´t, when all the ones that I use to check the dvd reads DVD-R?

Thank you!!!

I have been having that same problem as well. Some DVD players players will play the copies but others will not. I have been contemplating this problem all night and I have come to one conclusion. Nero is the problem. For some reason DVDs burned with Nero only work in some DVD players. Try burning your DVDs with a demo copy of Gear Pro and see if they work then.

I used Nero and never had a problem with any DVD player and even all the PS2 version. Could be the media of yours (I use TDK's as my media)

Nero definetely has compatibility problems! My Pioneer DV-454 does not read any discs burned with it but there's no problem if I copy the contents and use any other software to burn it to DVD-R. I've heard similar complaints from Toshiba owners. Strange enough, my friend's Pioneer DV-444 has no problem with Nero burned discs.

DVD-R's burned with Prassi PrimoDVD, RecordNow MAX or VOB InstantDVD work perfectly with all standalone players I've tried.

sofware/method/standalones.

Bloody nightmare if u ask me, heh but nothing in life is simple or easy right?

I used nero UDF only option, this cured my compatibility issue as I used to use the UDF/ISO option which only worked for 3 out my 4 standalones.

The UDF only option has cured my compatibility see if it does with yours!!!!!!!!!!!

Only a suggestion - no guarantees in life I'm afraid.

maguila,

Excellent news glad to be of help.

Just remember though just because this works for you/me doesn't mean it is THE NORM.

There are just TOO many variables involved to create AN ALL FOR ONE METHOD.

Generally I have found that compatibility issues are related to media and/or burning software.

Anyway glad ur on ur way. Happy burning.

Ps Have just got recordnowmax and depending on my results my change to this software in future cos people r not encountering these issues with it.

Just a footnote

I burned some discs in just UDF mode for a friend whose player (Pioneer DV-350) wouldn't play the ones in UDF/ISO mode and they are unplayable on my Arcam DV88 (which plays UDF/ISO discs just fine ,even on cheap crappy media)
The UDF ones play fine on my Teac (I forget the model number) I don't know if they will work on the Pioneer as I have heard from him yet but reports elsewhere suggest that they will.

The moral here is just reinforcing what baabaa has said, don't count on discs that work in your machine working in sombody elses and vice versa
