do i need a progressive scan dvd player to play my dvds on the tv, i hav 2 older dvd players and they will not play the dvds that i burn, i know the dvd works because the media plays when i use it on my pc dvd drive,
if anyone can help or suggest something to try i would appreciate it

Older dvd players could have trouble playing +R media. If possible +Rs should be book typed to dvd-roms.

I completely agree with Ppower. Try dvd-r if useing dvd+r and bitsetting is not capable. Poor quality media can also be the cause. What brand and media code are your discs?

This is not a Advanced question.
I've got an old RCA and it plays backups fine ... well not backups made by XCopy, but will play backups made by every other program.
