I am burning DVDs from movies on my harddrive, .avi format. After encoding to MPG, the size ranges from 2GB to 7GB. Problem, some of the movies in the 3-4GB range will not fit on a DVD??? I have tried with MyDVD, neoDVD, RecordNow, and to a lesser degree, Nero. (With Nero, I just do not understand the guides posted here). What am I doing wrong? When I edit the movie and get it below 3.79 GB, should it not fit on a DVD? Thanks, Deb

try to encode in mpeg at a lower bitrate , the movie will be smaller.
look in your encoder you shurely can modify the bitrate value.
