This sounds like an application error.
What exactly are you trying to do and with what programs?
More info is needed to try and resolve

using dvd x copy platinum has been working fine anytime I launch and try to use get error message

Try this thread - it's old but it might still work & fix your problem:

If this doesn't work you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Xcopy.
This error I think usually deals with dll's, registry or your security software.
IMO I would get rid of Xcopy since it can no longer handle the latest CSS codes and use some of 1 or more of these: Decrypter, Shrink (both free)AnyDVD,Clone or Nero. Just my 2 cents
