Near Perfect DVD backup

I have been trying to make a backup of my dvd collection. I have a sony vaio witha dvd burner. I use smartripper, ifoedit, and nero. I am able to make a copy but it has imperfections when watching it. I check various spot of the movie with windvd before burning. It never is screwed up. However when watching in my Samsung dvd1000, there are minor glitches and minor skipping. Is this a problem with my burner, software, or standalone player. Anyone have same problem or solution I would be greatly appreciative for a fix.

I'm guessing the player. Can you try burning the same image again using a different burner and not Nero? That would eliminate that possibility...

Hi when Backing my dvds up I burn to DVD-RW first just to make sure my backing up has gone well and that im not going to waste a DVD-R, But when playing DVD-RW I get gliches which I asume is because the disk is harder to read.
Maybe this is your problem and the DVD's you are using are not that compatable with your player.
