Ok guys, me here with yet another question - or 2

How do you set a HDD to Master or Slave using the IDE Cable and Jumper I forgot how to do this since I got this new computer (no problems or reason for me to go inside of it.)

Also, I want to connect a USB 2.0 device to a USB 1.1 port - can this be done?

You "Can" connect the USB 2 device but the speeds will be USB 1.1 speeds.

if ide cable is 80 wire but still uses 40pin connector than the black connector is master, grey is slave & blue is motherboard with the jumpers set to cable select. if cable is a 40 wire 40 pin connector than doesn't matter which drive go on which connector as the c:drive is jumpered master & the d:drive is jumpered slave

I think that there are 40 connectors/pins in the standard IDE set up, but I THINK that there is an extra shielded wire running parallel to each of the 40 wires. Hence 80 wire.
Most of the new cables that you buy will tell you if they are 80 wire. If you have a store bought PC, it is likely they used the cheapest crap that they could put their hands on!! LOL!
I guess the 80 pin gives a better data transfer rate.
